Polanco was arraigned on attempted murder of Officers Andrew Dossi and Aliro Pellarano.

The man accused of shooting two NYPD cops after robbing a Bronx bodega was indicted Tuesday on attempted murder charges.

Jason Polanco allegedly shot at an NYPD anti-crime unit, which had responded at the end of their shift to a Jan. 5 report of a robbery at the Welcome 2 Yemen corner store in Fordham.

During a scuffle, the 24-year-old accused triggerman shot Officer Andrew Dossi, 30, in the left arm and lower back, and wounded 38- year-old Officer Aliro Pellerano with three shots from a .44-caliber Ruger handgun, prosecutors charge.

Polanco also wounded his alleged accomplice, 28-year-old Joshua Kemp, who so far has only been charged with robbing the bodega.

Polanco allegedly fired at two plainclothes officers and wounded his accomplice during the January incident at the Welcome 2 Yemen corner store in Fordham.

Wearing an orange Department of Correction jumpsuit and with hair that has grown scraggy since his arrest, Polanco pleaded not guilty to a whopping 31-count indictment handed down by Judge Steven Barrett in Bronx Supreme Court.

He remains locked up without bail at Rikers Island, with his case adjourned until April 28, when lawyer Joel Peister is expected to apply for bail.

The two wounded cops, who were in plainclothes during the shooting, had left their bulletproof vests at the 46th Precinct stationhouse in order to get to the scene as quickly as possible, the Daily News reported in January.

Pellerano, a married father of three, was released from St. Barnabas Hospital two days later.

Dossi, who was more seriously injured, left Mount Sinai Hospital 11 days after the shooting.

Peister attempted to console the 20 family members and supporters of Polanco who packed the courtroom for the indictment.

“It’s a formality. He was arraigned on the indictment,” he was overheard telling the family.

“The kid has deep roots in the community and we’ll see how this case shakes out,” Peister told reporters afterward.
